The native place of the romantic poet Nikolaus Lenau bears the name Lenauheim since 1926 to honor his memory. He is said to be one of Austrias most important lyrics in the 19th century.

In front of the Village Hall, there is the statue of Lenau, and on the main street there is the Nikolaus Lenau Memorial House and the Ethnography Museum.

The Nikolaus Lenau Memorial House was established in 1932. The building that houses the museum was built in 1775, today it is declared a historic monument. It is the house where the poet Nikolaus Lenau was born in 1802.

In the left wing of the upper floor of building, there are manuscripts, books, press clippings, photographs, paintings, busts, photocopies, etc. all reminding of the life and activity of Nikolaus Lenau.

In the right wing of the building, there is the Swabian museum of local history. Eight rooms depict how the Banat Swabians have lived here.

The most important events in the history of the community Lenauheim, are written on the blackboards. In a glass cabinet you can see contemporary documents and manuscripts.

Aged equipment and tools illustrate the daily work of peasant population.

Several rooms of a typical Banat Swabian house from the end of the 19th century were recreated and are showing cultivation of and taste in home decor. One of the most valuable exhibits is a painted bed from 1821. A cradle, a bassinet, carved chairs and tables can also be marveled, as well as an old Singer-sewing machine.

The snuggery, today living room, conduced as a showroom. In the kitchen dishes and a stove from former times are exhibited. In the „Speis”, the pantry of the Banat Swabians, supplies and kitchen equipment were stored.

The eye-catcher is definitely the “Kirchweihzug” which assembles the biggest costume collection of the Banat. There are many dolls from nearly every community of the Banat, wearing traditional costumes.

The birth house of Nikolaus Lenau was restored in the anniversary year 2002 due to the initiative of the village administration of Lenauheim, the territorial association „Banat Swabians”- state association of Bavaria and the Hometown Association (HOG) Lenauheim. The presentation of the exhibition was done by the Banat Museum Timişoara.

The Csekonics Mansion

Colonel Joseph Csekonics (1757-1824), born in Kőszeg, a western Hungarian burg, becomes the owner of the Jimbolia domain in 1800. Like other noble families who have bought vast lands with whole villages, the Csekonics family has built several castles, of which the most beautiful buildings are Csekonics Castle - also called the Inner Castle and Csito Castle, raised between 1863-1870 near the Jimbolia domain and which was destroyed after the First World War. Csekonics Castle still exists, impressing with the refinement of its architecture. It is supposed that the old castle was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century, when General Joseph Csekonics resigned from the position of commander of the Mezőhegyes stud farm and retired to Jimbolia domain. Between 1907 and 1908 the Eastern wing of building was demolished. Thus the initial U-shape has turned into L-shape, this one being the appearance of the building today. At the end of the nineteenth century, the castle served as a residence for widow countess Leontina Csekonics and as a guest house of the family. After long negotiations with the noble family, the Jimbolia commune bought the castle in 1935, starting extensive reconstruction and renovation works. The San Marco Mansion

The San Marco Mansion, a historical monument located on the territory of Comloşu Mare commune, Timiş County, was built around 1840 by count Nákó János. The Nákó family had bought the lands of Comloş in 1781, becoming the owners of the locality. The construction consisted of two wings separated by a wrought-iron monumental gate, above which was the stone-built heraldry of the family, a theater hall and administrative buildings, all in the vicinity of a superb park that stretched to no less than ten hectares. It is believed that the park around the castle was the wedding gift of the Emperor Franz Joseph, which reproduced in miniature a famous Viennese garden. The trees were planted at the beginning of the second half of the nineteenth century, and from each corner of the park an alley was begun to the middle of it, where there was a ring. The alleys were covered with fine white marble stone. In the park of the former San Marco Mansion there is the bust of the first professional journalist of Banat, Iulian Grozescu, born on January 20, 1839 in Comloşu Mare. Currently, the right wing of the mansion is the headquarters of the city hall, and the other wing is privately owned. It can be visited from the outside. The Hodoni Mansion

The Hodoni Mansion, recently restored, is declared historic monument and is included in the list of architectural monuments of Timis County. The village Hodoni (Odon, Odogny, Odoign, Hodony) is mentioned in historical documents since 1717. In the year 1812, the baron familiy Manaszy-Barco acquires the property and takes the name „de Hodony”. The Manaszy-Barco de Hodony family is important in the historical region of Banat, having numerous other estates and family members active in the Parliament in Budapest. In the year 1840 the „curia” (mansion) of the family is built, on an estate that has numerous other buildings, parcs, alleys. The plan of the estate is visible in maps dating from 1860. After 1874 the estate is successively owned by other families: 1874 Archduke Johann de Toscana, in 1877, Francisca Todesco, and in 1879 owners were Eross Bela and Gheza and in 1888 it was bought by Kastory Ioan and Mihai, the last remaining owners for a longer period. During the Second World War the estate was purchased by Thomas Surlaş, a merchant of Timisoara. In the years around 1960 the estate is nationalized by the communist regime and turned over to the state. In 2004 it is regained by the rightful owners. Hodoni Manor is a location dedicated exclusively for high class events, situated in the middle of nature, in an estate of over 10 hectares, consisting of arboretum with rare species of trees, pond and orchard with many kinds of fruit trees. The Liptay Mansion

The Liptay Mansion, one of the historical monuments of Banat, a correspondent of baroque and neo-classical architectural styles, is located in the center of Lovrin, near the Roman Catholic Church. The construction was started in 1817 by Friedrich Liptay, a descendant of an ancient family from the upper part of Hungary. By the end of the eighteenth century, his father, Captain Anton Liptay, had been landed in the area of ​​Gottlob and Lovrin by the Emperor Leopold II. Two years after construction began, the park around the mansion was set up on an area of ​​1.5 hectares. The park was designed in English style and included a small lake. It has long been an attraction of Lovrin commune, rivaling in beauty with the Timişoara parks. The old water tower, now partially disabled, the former show house, the buildings that used to be used as stables and warehouses are still in the park. During the same period, the Roman Catholic Church was built in the vicinity of the mansion. Currently, the mansion is owned by the Lovrin Agricultural Research and Development Resort.
