Adventureland
The Land of Adventures – the largest hiking obstacle course in the country – An ecologically built attraction
The Land of Adventures, designed for both adults and children, is the largest obstacle course in the country and is located within the Domeniile Murani Leisure Center.
With a length of over 2,500–3,000 steps (more than 2,000 meters), featuring challenges such as: tree houses; suspended bridges; swinging logs; see-saws and step-over bridges; walkways above farm animals; military-style routes; metal or wooden beams; the snail maze; turtle steps; and especially the firefighters’ pontoon, with a slide-down pole of over 3 meters — it represents a true challenge for both young and old alike.
We encourage completing the route in teams composed of one child and one adult. Such pairs offer children great joy, the development of motor skills, increased self-confidence, and the creation of a strong bond with the adults accompanying them on the course. Adults will enjoy the children’s achievements, spend quality time with them away from phones, and won’t even realize how they’ve burned more than 250 calories.
What is even more interesting about the Land of Adventures is the fact that it was built largely from recycled materials or materials with low economic value.
We chose to protect nature and recycle by using materials without value or with low commercial value, investing much more in labor — in transforming them from potential waste into obstacles along the course. Thus, we used: hardwood that has bends, defects, or dimensions less useful in the processing industry; fir timber with asymmetrical edges; parts of decommissioned railway tracks; non-retreadable tires; components from vehicle bodies; metal structures from tram seats, and others.
Through this approach, we wanted not only to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, but also to offer an example of how we can contribute to creating a better life for our children. In the same spirit, our leisure center also carries out the campaign “Goodies from Domeniile Murani invite you to recycle caps with heart,” through which we try to help children in need by collecting and repurposing plastic caps. If you visit us, we invite you to take part in this campaign as well — we have built a large heart that we aim to fill with caps for recycling.
In addition to the Land of Adventures, we invite you to enjoy the other attractions within our leisure center, such as the outdoor decorative elements:
The Medieval Shower; The Treasure Beneath the Throne; Murănică’s Little House; The Carriage and Medieval Farm Equipment; or the photo corners: The Seasons; The Bride and Groom’s Meeting; The Love Pontoon; Portrait with Nature; The Lady’s Swing; and the Nobleman’s Carriage.
Murany Manor, the largest Metasequoia in Romania, the Centuries-Old Plane Tree, the Royal Acacia, the Great Ginkgo Biloba, the Forest Edge and the Lilac Tunnel, the Uța and Țoi Playground, the Story Farm, the Cerdac Restaurant, and the Terezia Hall are facilities accessible within the Domeniile Murani Leisure Center, open daily to visitors from 09:00 to 20:00.
Domeniile Murani is a leisure center located in the heart of Murani village, just 22 km from Timișoara, in one of the few hilly areas of Timiș County.
