The Habsburg Banat Exhibition

The Habsburg Banat Exhibition, organized by the Banat Village Museum with the financial support of the Timiș County Council, will offer visitors a complex cultural experience.

Visitors will embark on an imaginary cultural journey through the Banat world of the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries, discovering historical, ethnographic, and spiritual insights revealed through museum exhibits and archaeological artifacts from the collections of the Banat Village Museum Timișoara, the National Museum of Banat Timișoara, the West University of Timișoara, and the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Timișoara, along with illustrative images from Banat’s past and scholarly texts.

The interested public will accompany the people of Banat from the twilight of the Middle Ages, through the Age of Enlightenment, and up to the establishment of modern institutions that shaped the contemporary world of European nation-states.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors until December 1st, 2025.
